Dining Table with Leafs

Dining Table

I saw a full-sized version of this table in a furniture store in Birmingham, Michigan and was greatly impressed with its clever design. It was manufactured in the Czech Republic.

The model shows that the leafs can increase the table top area by 50 percent or more. By adding some drop-down legs, I'm sure the table top could be increased in size by nearly double.

The table's top floats above the base and is held in position by 2 large pins that fit into holes drilled in the top. The leafs can be pulled from under the top without actually removing the top center piece.

Once the leafs are extended they are held in place by their under arms that extend under the table top's base unit. The table with the expanded leafs is very stable.

This unique design saves locating the leafs when a large gathering arrives to eat. The table can be quickly returned to a more manageable size for family-only dining.

If anyone knows who actually designed this table, please let me know at info@wooddeft.com and I will give the designer credit on this page.
